Your ALTYR practitioner will help you settle in a natural resting state for the duration of the session. As your mind begins to quiet, you will become conscious of your breathing, helping to relax your body further.

This balances both your left and right brain, as well as the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems, preparing you for Yoga Nidra and trains your mind and body for a deeper state of rest.

Your practitioner will help you focus your energy inward, on your breath, and towards relaxation. Simply lie down on your back, close your eyes, and let the outside world melt away. The remainder of the session may be accompanied by music, ambient sound, or south bath instruments. Towards the end of the session, your ALTYR practitioner will gently guide you back to your waking, conscious state.

A regular yoga nidra practice has all the potential to help you develop, change, or alter your routines and lifestyle for the better. While yoga nidra works on the inner harmony within yourself, it also enhances your abilities and experiences as you move forward in life. Meditation and yoga nidra invites you to treat every moment and encounter as an opportunity to cherish.
Since you will be in a resting pose for the majority of your session, make sure to dress comfortably. Comfortable pants and something to cover yourself up with in case you get cold are recommended. Comfort is key during your session, so make sure to spend a few moments preparing a space for yourself by using a yoga mat, pillow, blankets, or bolster if you choose. Your ALTYR practitioner can assist you in creating a comfortable space that will support your body as well.

You may choose to prepare yourself with an intention before your session, as it may help focus your practice. Your intention can be as general as better rest, or as specific as you need it to be. Your ALTYR practitioner will spend some time at the beginning of the session helping you workshop your intention.
You may feel a rush of energy or emotion after or even during your session. When challenging feelings come up, allow yourself to experience them. As you move through the session and for days that follow, you'll continue to release unwanted energy, connecting deeper with your consciousness, and liberate yourself from what no longer serves you.

Yoga Nidra can lead to transcendent experiences. Make sure you give them the proper attention. As always, you can reach out to your ALTYR practitioner with questions or to schedule a follow up session.
